Terms and Conditions for Schools Teaching. For Private Teaching Click Here.
These are the terms and conditions under which I offer my services as a guitar teacher. A copy of these terms will be issued with contracts to the parent or guardian of the child who wishes to take lessons. One copy of the contract and terms must be held for your records. The second copy, signed by the parent or guardian
must be returned, with the appropriate fees, to me.
These terms must be read and understood in conjunction with the contract. The contract signed and returned to me declares that all the terms and conditions are understood and agreed to by the signatory.
I will require a working email address and a phone number as backup for one parent or guardian of each pupil. These will be kept on my database while the pupil attends lessons.
The school year will be divided into three terms: Autumn, Spring and Summer. Working from the dates outlined by the local authority and the school I will decide how many lessons I can offer and will invoice accordingly. Cheques should be made payable to James Joyce.
The fee for an individual lesson of 1/2 hour will be £12.00.
Group lessons of two students will be £6.00 per pupil per lesson.
Group lessons of three students (if available) will be charged at £4.00 per pupil per lesson.
Individual lessons of 20 minutes duration (if available) will be charged at £8.00 per lesson.
Please note some of the above lesson types may not be available due to school space, schedule limitations and matching abilities of students.
Invoices will be issued at the beginning of each term and the fees are payable within two weeks of receipt. Any fees outstanding after three weeks will cause the lessons for that pupil to be suspended until payment is received.
The fee invoiced is payable in full. No allowance will be made for pupils who cannot attend lessons for whatever reasons. (Family holidays etc etc.)
Fees for lessons I cannot give due to eg. illness will be refunded or credited. Should a pupil be unable to attend due to eg. long term illness fees will be returned at my discretion.
I expect pupils to be well behaved, attentive and willing to learn. Pupils disrupting lessons for others will not be tolerated and may be dismissed from the class. Should I deem it necessary to withdraw my offer to teach a particular student my decision on the matter is final and any fees for lessons not given will be refunded.
I expect all pupils to attend lessons with their guitar, tutorial books, any music I have given them and thier practice diary. Pupls performance and progress will be noted in the diary and I urge parents to review it regularily.
Terms and Conditions for Private Teaching.
Contracts and copies of these terms will be issued to each new pupil.
I will require one copy of the contract to be signed and returned to me.
The contract signed and returned declares that the terms are fully understood and accepted.
Lessons are offered only on an individual basis of 1/2 hour duration.
The fee per lesson is £10.00 payable at each lesson.
A fee of £7.00 will be charged for any lessons not attended for whatever reason. This will be payable at the following lesson.
Private lessons run throughout the year except for Christmas holidays, bank holidays and two weeks in late August. They do not follow any school terms as these vary between counties.
The fee of £7.00 will therefore be payable for any missed lessons irrespective of school half terms etc.
The only time this fee is waived is for the duration of the summer school hoildays.
I continue to offer lessons but only charge those who can attend.
Pupils must attend lessons with their guitar, any tutorial material I have specified and a practice diary.
Parents are encouraged to attend lessons whenever they wish. Adequate space is available.
Pupils under the age of ten may not attend lessons unless accompanied (for the complete lesson) by a parent or guardian.
If I deem it necessary to withdraw my offer to teach any pupil for whatever reason (eg. behaviour issues, lack of commitment etc.) my decision will be final and not open for discussion. I will however always forwarn parents/guardians of any problems.
